Title: First book in this subject published in Brazil, inspired in the first PhD thesis on creative cities. This book analyses how urban creativity can be used to transform cities of different profiles, histories and socio-economic situation. It proposes ways to turn cities into more attractive and creative places, generating economic, social and cultural richnesses. Made up of five chapters, it discusses in depth the changes that led to the emergence of the creative economy; the roots and meaning of “creative cities”; it then proposes an original concept of creative cities; applies it to London, Bilbao and Bogotá, as proofs of the concept; and finally to São Paulo, in a very innovative way, intertwining connections, innovation and culture.
