How to encourage young residents of Vale do Paraíba to consider creative entrepreneurship as a career path?

Convinced of the inspirational power of entrepreneurs within their own territory, Garimpo de Soluções responded to EDP’s challenge by creating the unprecedented Creative Entrepreneurship Game.

In partnership with Aero Comunicação, they transformed 17 São Paulo cities along the Dutra Highway and all 103 creative ventures mapped in the region into cards. Real businesses, such as book publishers, cultural spaces, beeswax cosmetics manufacturers, coffee roasters, traditional food restaurants, barbershops with a unique approach, fashion or art studios, and many more.

The hand-drawn board was designed with illustrations of each municipality, represented through the imagery of their citizens. Thus, Caçapava is illustrated by its mascot, the capybara; São José dos Campos, by the enormous weeping willow of Parque Vicentina Aranha; Roseira, by the wild rose flowers that announced their arrival to the 18th-century muleteers.

The game was piloted in the fourth and eighth grades of different public schools in Guaratinguetá, in partnership with the city’s Municipal Department of Education. From this, two levels of complexity were validated. At the highest level, coins and business opportunities with other players are introduced – franchise, co-branding, joint promotion, partnership, various investments. Given the students’ enthusiasm, it was converted into educational material, not only for creative entrepreneurship but also for heritage and history education.

Launched in December 2023, the game was entirely produced on paper – from the board to the pawns and dice – it was distributed to the municipalities and its digital file was made available for free download.
