This course aims to debate the emergence and the context of the creative economy as a development strategy and its links to entrepreneurship and the urban setting. It will emphasise the connections across economics, creativity culture and politics, along the centuries. Besides, it will put focus on the economic shift required to turn our consumption model into a more sustainable paradigm; explain the ideas embedded in the concept of a creative city; and advocate for a joint policy encompassing the government, the private sector, the academy and the civil society.
