PRAXIS – Araguaia-Xingu Innovation and Sustainability Regional Programme

A pilot application of MATCH - Evaluation Matrix of Creative and Human Territories

Local: São Félix do Araguaia (MT)
Organization: SEBRAE MT

How to activate the creativity of a territory marked by past conflicts, charting paths towards a future of social, economic, cultural, and environmental convergences and synergies?

In August 2024, SEBRAE MT commissioned Garimpo de Soluções to develop the PRAXIS project – the Araguaia-Xingu Regional Program for Innovation and Sustainability, Phase 1.

Aimed at positioning the territory as a benchmark for economic diversification and creative-based territorial development, the program began with a pilot in São Félix do Araguaia, seeking to identify complementarities in economic activities, the coexistence of diversities, and the convergence of past and present knowledge to build a more powerful future.

The initiative included a multi-sectoral diagnosis, the proposal of a new guiding positioning based on regeneration, the pioneering application of the MATCH – Creative and Human Territory Analysis Matrix, the definition of four programmatic axes, and the recommendation of 11 innovative projects.

The results were presented to SEBRAE MT in December 2024 and to the municipal government in March 2025. In partnership with the SEBRAE MT team, the first actions are already underway.

The project was coordinated by Ana Carla Fonseca, Ale Castañé, and Regina Faria.
