Objectives: To deepen the knowledge of participants about the role of design in a changing world; to showcase strategies employed by a vast array of countries; to offer an integrated approach to design, culture, entrepreneurship and business; to share trends; to illustrate concepts through practical references to different sectors, countries and contexts; to emphasise the need of a cross-disciplinary approach to design.Structure: A conference in the evening, followed by a full-day seminar with debates, totaling 4 roundtables with 13 of the most renowned design experts around the world, from 10 countries. The seminar took place in the realm of the Design Biennale, the most recognised design gathering in the country. Among the speakers, first-rate experts like Deyan Sudjic (Design Museum, London), Rasmus Tscherning (European Alliance for the Creative Industries, Denmark) and Marie Pok (Grand-Hornu, Belgium).
