São Paulo and Medellín – two cities with as many differences as common points, especially regarding the creative economy and regional development. Aiming to build new bridges and exchanges between the states of São Paulo and Antióquia, Comfama – a mixed, private-state organization with the purpose to expand and consolidate an autonomous working middle-class – designed with Garimpo de Soluções a tailor-made programme, in 2022/23.
The first step envolved an immersion, in Medellín, of Ana Carla Fonseca and Alejandro Castañé, project coordinators. The intense visit offered a deep perception of the creative economy context, mainly thanks to a series of talks with culture and creative economy standouts. Next, Garimpo set up a stimulating week of activities, talks and meetings in São Paulo for 27 professionals representing the most emblematic cultural institutions of Medellín.
After this true intravenous in the soul of the creative economy, Garimpo produced a report stating strategic considerations and the main opportunities ahead.
