First regional creative economy plan in Brazil, this initiative authentically reflects the environmental, cultural, and social assets of the globally unique region of Ribeira Valley, proposing strategic pathways to transform its diverse creative singularities into high-value-added products and services.
Under the coordination of Ana Carla Fonseca, Alejandro Castañé, and Ricardo Peruchi, the diagnostic phase encompassed over 80 in-depth interviews with influential figures in the region, alongside a series of seven interactive workshops conducted with entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and public/private sector managers. This intricate and captivating endeavor was tailored for a region that embodies both complexity and fascination.
Developed between December 2019 and August 2020, the project was recognized as a finalist for the Jabuti Prize (2021), received the Governor’s Award for Creative Economy (2021), and was showcased as a best practice at ExpoDubai (Brazilian Pavilion).
